Business Models
|
Corporate Overview:
To satisfy the needs of both biotech, pharma as well as the academic laboratories, ISH will employ two pricing models, depending on the requirements and budget of the customer. These models include:
- A software-as-a-service model (ISH hosted model)
- A software license model (client hosted model)

Software as a Service
Iseehear has designed its products as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions providing on-demand applications for research laboratories headed by principal investigators. Iseehear believes its “choose what you use” business model will be very attractive to principal investigators and their colleagues.
ISH’s SaaS products will provide the user with the following benefits:
- Avoidance of large up-front capital requirements and attendant risks typically associated with a software system implementation lifecycle (e.g. investments in hardware, integration and IT operations)
- Reduction in the commitment of laboratory resources required to ensure proper integration and implementation within the lab
Software License
As scientists are getting more comfortable with using the web as a means of recording their data, there seems to be a high degree of preference for a “hybrid” model whereby the application front-end interface is web-based, however the data storage servers on the backend sit within the laboratory. The web allows for a more flexible interface in contrast to traditional desktop applications. The concern of housing sensitive data with a third party is only slowly fading.
Furthermore, one of the additional drivers pushing adoption of web solutions is the younger generation of scientists who are entering the research environment with the expectation that not only computers but the Internet will routinely be used to conduct their work.
